David Noon, Managing Director delivers keynote at IPFA event in Yangon

On Tuesday 21st November 2017, IPFA Asia organized a session “Financing Infrastructure Development in Myanmar – Risk Management Approach,” hosted by Willis Towers Watson.

The key message from this session was that Myanmar continues to require large amount of infrastructure investment especially in transportation, telecommunication and power sector, private businesses and governments around the world are keen to participate in the country’s growth. Given the rapid development in Infrastructure in Myanmar and the growing scale of projects and the cost of capital, managing risk over the project life-cycle is crucial to the financing and success of these projects. A bankable project requires a clear understanding of the risks associated with the project, how they are allocated to the stakeholders and options to achieve their successful mitigation.

The speakers and panelists were representatives from developers, lenders, banking industry and the consulting community with the Keynote Address delivered by David Noon, Managing Director, ADL Infra Capital Myanmar Pte.Ltd. David highlighted lessons from his project experience in Vietnam of over 14 years, drawing comparisons and contrasts between Vietnam and Myanmar.
